Tea & Calm
Chinese Green Tea Cultural Experience for Kids & Families

This 90-minute workshop invites children and families to explore Chinese green tea culture through music, sensory activities, and hands-on learning.
Participants will enjoy a gentle introduction to Chinese green tea culture through music, sensory exploration, and hands-on activities.
The session will end with a tea-inspired craft for participants to take home. No prior experience is required, and all materials will be provided.
This program is recommended for children ages 6 and above. Families are welcome to participate. Space is limited to 20 participants; registration is encouraged.

Song Brocade Comes to Life in HYBA’s Mother’s Day Keepsake Workshop

On May 9, HYBA hosted a Mother’s Day Song Brocade keepsake workshop at Linda Vista Library. Youth and families explored traditional Chinese silk-inspired patterns, color symbolism, and decorative design while creating handmade keepsakes to take home. The workshop offered a warm, hands-on way to connect cultural heritage with family-centered creativity.

HYBA Hosts Spring Blossom Chinese Painting Workshop at Linda Vista Library

The workshop provided an engaging cultural experience, reflecting HYBA’s mission to promote cross-cultural understanding through youth-led programs.

HYBA Joins the UCSD CSSA Spring Festival Gala

On February 28, Sophia Hu, founder of HYBA, participated in the UCSD CSSA Spring Festival Gala, performing traditional Chinese music as part of a cultural ensemble celebrating the Lunar New Year. Through the performance, HYBA shared Chinese musical heritage with a diverse university audience, using traditional arts to promote cultural exchange and connect youth communities with broader public audiences.

HYBA Collaborates with Linda Vista Library on a Traditional Chinese Calligraphy Workshop for Youth

On February 21, HYBA hosted Writing Fu, a free Chinese calligraphy workshop for youth, in collaboration with Linda Vista Library and listed on the official library event calendar.The workshop introduced participants to the cultural meaning of the character “Fu” (福) in Chinese tradition and basic brush techniques. The program provided a hands-on cultural experience for youth and was open to the public at no cost.

HYBA Invited to Share Traditional Chinese Calligraphy Culture, 02/17, 2026 · San Diego, CA
On February 17, HYBA was invited to a local architecture school’s Lunar New Year celebration to share the cultural meaning of Fu (福) in Chinese tradition. A small benefit sale was also held, with proceeds supporting HYBA’s youth-led traditional arts programs.
